We are delighted to have been accredited as a British Gliding
Association Junior Gliding Centre.
This Scheme is designed to encourage younger people (under 25s and under 18s) into our sport.
We are able to offer junior gliding scholarships to students between 14-21 in full time education. Full details of the scholarship scheme are available here.
Okay so it is just for fun!! However gliding offers a diverse range of practical learning ranging from how weather systems work to the nuts-and-bolts of flight.
Gliding is a sport of skill; teaching judgement, co-ordination and self-confidence.
Juniors (together with a parent or guardian if appropriate) are very welcome to visit us on any Saturday from 11am onward or please contact Mike Dodd, our Junior Gliding Centre Coordinator for further information.
Gliding is a complimentary fit to your educational objectives whether in Sport, Personal development, practical Physics or the Natural environment and biosphere.
We are currently seeking contacts with local schools and colleges to explore ways of working together to add gliding to your list of activities.
Gliding is essentially a safe sport but as with any other human activity, a culture of safety and adherence to operating procedures are essential to maintain a zero accidents record. Our Members and guests should adhere to our Code of Conduct whilst at the Club.
